Welcome

East Saint Louis Blues Fare You Well, Blind Willie McTell.
Paul Majkut, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, now lives in San Diego. He has lived extensively abroad, including Canada, the People's Republic of China, Finland, Argentina, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia. Although each of his novels is crafted within the conventions and formulas of a specific "genre," he believes he writes anti-genre fiction. Genres are for him merely excuses for writing on his sole theme: you. He has worked to get “off the grid,” knowing that placing a novel before the eyes of readers is a poor way to achieve that goal. In this quest, he understands that the goal of ceasing to exist on the grid is an impossibility, so, hoping at least for invisibility and failing to find it, he prefers to be revealed to the public in a house of mirrors.

I do not know where I am at the moment, but when I do, I'll let you know.

In the meantime, you may want to sample the excerpts from my published work, fiction and non-fiction, linked on the right. If you have already read any of the novels or short stories, feel free to ask any question you want of any of the characters who appear in any of the stories, no matter if they are central, minor, or passing. If you only read the samples given here, you may also want to ask them questions or make comments to which they will reply. When you ask a question or make your comment, please begin by naming the story in which the character appears and that character's name. For example:

ASTERION: THE MINOTAUR or OULANEM: RUDOLF PERTINI.

Your questions and comments need not be limited to what happens in the story. You may ask characters questions in the "Contact a Character" form in the CONTACT link. Other than the information provided in this link, I will not answer personal questions or, if I do, I cannot say that I will answer truthfully.

What you can’t speak about truthfully,
you must pass over in silence.
